Installation and activation

  1. Download and run the setup. If “Windows protected your PC” appears, click “More info” and then “Run anyway”.
  2. Accept the license terms and install. Administrator rights are needed for the installation.
  3. At the first start, enter the license key from your purchase e-mail, accept the license terms and click “Activate online”.
  4. Computer without internet: click “Show & copy request code”, send the code to lizenz@sonarmapper.com and redeem the activation code you receive.

License, renewal and modules

The license is valid for 2 years on 2 computers, all updates included, after that you renew for one year at a time. Menu › License shows the term and the modules you have. Four weeks before it expires, SonarMapper reminds you at startup; “Renew …” and, for side scan, “Add …” take you straight to the shop. After purchasing, choose “Update online” in the program, without internet “Redeem code …”. Projects and exports are always kept.

Updates

SonarMapper announces new versions itself: a green “Update” button appears at the top right. Manually: Help › “Check for updates …”. “Download” and “Install now” are all it takes; projects, settings and license are kept.

Frequently asked questions

New computer

In the program, choose Menu › License “Release on this computer”, then activate on the new computer with the same key.

A file is not read

The import message names the reason, for example no depth values or no GPS in the recording. If that does not help, send us the file.

Reporting a bug

In the program via Help › “Send feedback …” or by e-mail. The log file (path under Menu › About SonarMapper) helps us find the cause.

Accuracy

Values between the survey points are interpolated. How reliable a map is, the quality figures in the program and in the report show. More in the manual under “Accuracy”.
